How profitable is a two-tariff meter. Two-tariff electric meters how to choose

Electricity meters

All meters used in Russia must comply with GOST 31818.11–2012. According to this GOST, meters are divided into categories for direct connection and transformer.

A wide range of any two-tariff meters on the market can cause certain difficulties when choosing a model. Therefore, it is worth knowing the capabilities of each model in order to make an informed choice without making a mistake.

What will the installation of such a counter give us? In many regions of Russia, in order to reduce peak loads, power grids have introduced night and day rates for electricity. The difference in tariffs reaches 4 times, which encourages consumers to transfer the main consumption to the night, this is especially beneficial for those who have installed electric heating boilers, boilers, underfloor heating systems and other appliances with high energy consumption.

How does this benefit electricity suppliers? The fact is that electricity cannot be stored for future use, like, say, gas, coal or oil. It can only be used at the time of production. The inability to create reserves of electricity causes peaks in consumption or its dips. This affects all electrical equipment, including power plants, which are either overloaded or almost empty.

In order to avoid, or at least reduce peak loads in the morning and evening hours, and increase the load of power plants at night, power engineers began to offer the sale of electricity at night at reduced prices. This required counters leading separate counting consumed energy, day and night.

The installation of a two-tariff three-phase meter is also beneficial for enterprises that work on the night shift, they are also provided with a preferential tariff, which reduces the cost of their products. The purchase of an electronic meter solves the problem of two-tariff energy metering, and this, in most cases, is beneficial to consumers from an economic point of view. Especially if the electricity is used for heating or other energy-intensive purposes.

Mechanical models of two-tariff meters

Electric meters of various models and price categories are widely represented on the electrical equipment market.

Currently, mechanical meters or even their called induction, and more modern electronic.

Mechanical meters have been produced for a long time, they have proven themselves to be very reliable devices, their service life exceeds 30 years. Their work is based on the principle of creating an induction field by coils, under the influence of which, a disk mechanically connected to a counting mechanism rotates.

Such counters are both single-phase and three-phase. Their advantages are high reliability, the parameters are stable even after a 30-year period of operation, the measurement accuracy does not go beyond the declared 2nd accuracy class. In addition, the price of such devices is much lower than electronic ones.

They also have disadvantages:

  • inability to change the tariff plan;
  • the impossibility of embedding this type of meters in an automated accounting system;
  • immutable precision class.

Electronic Models

Electronic meters have advanced features and higher technical parameters.

The principle of operation of such devices is that the electric current flowing through the meter is converted into a series of pulses using a sensor. The greater the current strength, the greater the number of pulses supplied to the counting device of the counter. There they are processed displayed on the LCD monitor in digital form. This data is retained in the event of a power outage, for a minimum of four months. It is also possible to set a consumption limit, if it is exceeded, a disconnection from the network occurs.

Depending on the mode setting, there is a calculation in night and day mode, and taking into account weekends and holidays.

Single-phase two-tariff electronic meter

Single-phase electricity meters are mainly used in everyday life. An increasing part of the population is changing outdated models for more advanced, two-tariff electronic ones.

In Russia, meters are used mainly of domestic production. Such quite a lot of companies and they offer a fairly wide range of products.

Well-known Russian manufacturers of these devices are Energomera Concern OJSC, NPF Mossar LLC, Moscow Plant of Electrical Measuring Instruments CJSC, Federal State Unitary Enterprise Nizhny Novgorod Plant named after M.V. Frunze", OJSC "Saransk Instrument-Making Plant" and a number of other enterprises.

The line of models "Mercury" meet all modern requirements for electricity meters. It is not difficult to buy such electric meters, as they are widely represented both in online stores and specialized ones.

Prices for single-phase two-tariff meters of similar models from different manufacturers differ little. But in stores you can see differences from 10 to 40% so the choice is up to the buyer.

Advantages and disadvantages of a two-tariff meter

The clear advantages of a two-tariff system include:

  • reducing production costs and smoothing the load during peak energy consumption hours (advantage for energy-saving organizations);
  • reduction of payment for electricity (for consumers);
  • shifting the inclusion of powerful electrical appliances to night hours (washing machines, heated floors, boilers and heaters), for lovers of a nocturnal lifestyle;
  • reducing emissions into the atmosphere, reducing the load on power equipment by the company;
  • convenience when taking readings.

Three-phase meters

For the needs of enterprises, where the vast majority is used three-phase electricity, the same manufacturers produce two-tariff electricity meters for a three-phase network. In addition to the ability to separately calculate electricity during the day and night, they take into account the consumption for each phase. Some models take into account both active and reactive components.

It is also possible to install limit limit electricity consumption. After the limit is used up, the meter turns off the network.

The installation of the electric meter should be trusted only to the specialists of the supplying organization, if only for the simple reason that if the design functionality does not work as it should, then you will not have to pay fines. In addition, they give a guarantee that everything is done in accordance with the rules of the PUE.

The process of installing a multi-tariff meter:

  • removal of the old electric meter;
  • installation of a multi-tariff electric meter;
  • checking the functioning of the software and choosing the desired tariff plan;
  • connection control;
  • sealing of the electric meter.

Two-tariff meters, in our time, are not a tribute to another fashion, but a real opportunity to reduce your electricity bills. Regardless of, single-phase is it a meter or three-phase, the operation of the device, in any case, is distinguished by a high degree of quality and economy. Most likely, the tariffs for it, in the short term, will not stop growing, but rather the opposite. In many countries, such a system has existed for a long time and numerous users claim that it successfully justifies itself.

Sometimes there is a reason to replace the electricity meter. There may be several reasons for this. For example, the meter has failed, its validity period has expired, the model is outdated, or you just want to upgrade the equipment. Often, electric meters are changed when switching to a multi-tariff system, for example, two-tariff meters.

What is the multi-tariff system? At different times of the day, electrical energy is consumed differently. There is a division of the day by electricity consumption into 5 periods:

  1. Night– economic period, with the lowest consumption, from 23.00 to 07.00 hours.
  2. Morning– maximum flow, from 7.00 to 9.00 hours.
  3. Day- half-peak period, consumption decreases due to a decrease in household load, from 10.00 to 17.00 hours.
  4. Evening peak period - from 17.00 to 21.00 hours.
  5. Evening half-peak the period with reduced load, from 21.00 to 23.00 hours.

All these fluctuations in electricity consumption have a negative impact on the operation of power plants and electricity transmission lines. Uneven energy consumption leads to increased wear and tear of power plant and substation equipment.

To reduce the negative impact of uneven electricity consumption and even out fluctuations in energy consumption, experts have developed a differentiated billing of electricity consumption. The main task of such billing is to interest energy consumers to reduce the load on the network during peak periods of time, and to shift a certain part of the load to another period, with cheaper electricity.

In our country, there is no specific single tariff, since each city or region sets its own tariffs. As a result of the transition to a new system and two-tariff meters, the consumer and the supplier of electricity benefit. The consumer will benefit from lower financial costs, and the energy supplier will benefit from a more even distribution of the load throughout the day and a reduction in peak loads on equipment.

Before installing multi-tariff meters, you need to make sure that these tariffs are in effect in your area. Today there are several models of multi-tariff meters. When choosing, it is necessary to navigate the purpose, device and principle of operation of the counter.

Kinds

Two-tariff meters are manufactured in the following accuracy classes:

  • Class 2
  • Class 1.
  • Class 0.5.

The device will be more accurate if the accuracy class is less. In this case, the error in the readings of the device is lower. A more accurate counter costs more.

According to the type of power supply, the meters are also divided into:

  • Single-phase.
  • Three-phase.

Each type corresponds to the number of phases electrical network.

Of the additional options, counters can have:

  • Possibility save to memory last monthly energy consumption readings.
  • Possibility transmission of evidence to the electricity supplier.
  • Availability event logs , which record peak periods and other important events.

According to the type of installation, the meters are divided into:

  • With three-point mounting system . All old-style electric meters were mounted on standard screw fasteners located at three points. One of them is at the top and the other two are at the bottom. There were special brackets or holes with standard distances on the meter body. The installation boards had appropriate mounting points or threaded holes that exactly fit the metering mounts. Some Models electronic appliances accounting are made in standard cases with the same mounting brackets. If you have an old design switchboard, then such a counter will be the best choice for you.
  • With mounting on DIN rail . Modern models of metering devices are installed in the switchboard using a unified mount called the "DIN rail". Behind the electric meter there is a curly groove and a latch. The meter is mounted on a metal profile rail with this groove, and secured with a clamp.
  • With universal mount. Some samples of meters are available with different types of mounts. They can be fixed both on a din-rail, and according to the old model of a three-point fastening.

The principle of operation and design features

Two-rate meters, like other types of metering devices, receive information about energy consumption from special voltage and current sensors located in the housing. Further, the electronic circuit converts this data and displays it.

The metering device consists of elements that receive information and data processing devices. With the joint functioning of these parts, the reading and processing of data is ensured. Further, the result is displayed on the screen and transmitted over the air to the server of the electricity supplier for monitoring and analyzing the consumption of electricity by individual consumers.

There are expensive samples of metering devices equipped with a separate interface for connecting to a computer. They are used for the functioning of the "smart home" system and programming the functions of electrical appliances using a computer by the clock.

When installing the meter, a special program is entered into it, which is configured to read the energy consumption at a cheaper rate during the period of 23.00-07.00. When changing the time from summer to winter, or vice versa, the counter must be reprogrammed again.

  1. To install a meter, you must apply to your organization supplying electrical energy.
  2. Further, it is necessary to collect all the required documents and obtain technical conditions for installation work.
  3. Now you can choose and buy an electric meter and connect it to the electrical network of the apartment.

To protect the power supply network and the electricity meter from excessive loads, it is recommended to connect. And if the meter is connected in places with high security requirements, then it is additionally connected.

If the wiring in the switchboard is done correctly, then two-rate meters are quite simple and easy to install. It is mounted in place of the old meter, and the wires are connected.

  • You cannot purchase metering devices in obscure organizations that do not have certification, in markets, from random sellers on the street, etc. Such random sellers will offer various favorable conditions, show documents certified by seals, but it is better to immediately refuse such purchases. And if the counter was already in use, then even more so, there can be no talk of acquiring it.
  • The best option for buying a meter would be at a local organization that supplies you with electricity. Even if they do not have counters for sale, they will give you qualified advice on choosing a model and manufacturer.
  • The electric meter that you have chosen, even if it is foreign-made, must be entered in the State Register. This means that these products are certified and approved for operation and sale in our country.
  • When buying a meter, you need to look at the entire package: the technical passport of the device with the existing serial factory number, the case with fastening elements, electronic components, factory packaging.
  • It is necessary to pay attention to the clarity and safety of the factory seal. If there is any suspicion of a violation of the seals, then it is better to replace the counter with another sample.
  • When checking documents for an electric meter, you need to check the date of manufacture, the warranty period and the interval between checks. The passport must contain a mark on the quality control of the device.
  • The operating instructions for the meter must indicate the permissible operating modes. This is important if the switchboard is to be installed in a cold room.
  • It is better not to install the meter on your own, but to call for this a qualified specialist who has the appropriate permit for such work. After installing and connecting the electric meter, it is imperative to call a specialist from the supplying organization, who must check the correct connection of the device, register it, seal it and configure it in accordance with two tariffs for electricity consumption.
  • After that, the specialist should advise the owner of the meter on the rules for taking meter readings and on other issues related to the operation of a two-tariff meter.
  • In the form, a note is made on the meter about its installation, indicating the date of the next verification.

The most common models

For example, let's consider some models of electricity meters that are equipped with the function of multi-tariff accounting for energy consumption, and are very popular among consumers and specialists.

ESR-55

The electric meter of the Moscow plant, which produces eight samples in this line of meters, differing in the appearance of the case and some technical parameters.

Building 1

The SOE-50 Sh electric meter is designed for the highest current strength of 50 amperes, and is able to take into account four different tariffs. Models SOE-60 Sh have increased power, reaching 60 amperes, and the number of tariffs has been increased to eight.

Building 3

Some two-tariff meters are equipped with a power limiter in the form of a residual current device. The SOE-60 Sh device has a function of fast measurement of network characteristics: current, voltage, frequency and power.

The entire model range has an accuracy class of 1. The interval between meter calibrations is set at 16 years, and the service life of the devices is expected to be 32 years. Guarantee period the manufacturer set in 3 years 6 months.

Meters of this line in cases "4" and "1" are suitable for replacing old devices with appropriate standard fixtures. And models with case numbers 2 and 3 are used for installation on a DIN rail. The mass of the device depends on the design of the case and can be 300-600 grams.

Mercury -200

Such two-tariff meters form their own line of devices from three models - 02, 04, 05. Their distinguishing feature is different interfaces for communication. In general, the technical parameters are identical to each other.

This model is more than ten years old, however, such devices are still quite widely used and have good consumer reviews.

The accuracy of the counter corresponds to the class "1". The interval between verifications is 16 years. Warranty period - 36 months, service life - 30 years.

The line of Mercury 200 counters is capable of keeping records at four rates. At the same time, it is possible to save data separately by month and day. Also in the counter settings you can set which days will be holidays and days off. To do this, the device has a built-in electronic calendar. Such counters are used for installation on a DIN rail. The weight of the device does not exceed 0.6 kg.

Energomera - CE 102

This counter is a development of a company from Stavropol. He has earned many good reviews for his work.

The device can record information for eight different tariffs, and store data in memory for the last year. The display shows the date and current time, as well as the type of the current tariff, current, voltage, power.

The complex electronic filling of the meter makes it possible to perform many auxiliary settings in the form of switching to winter time, protection threshold, breakdown of the day into tariff zones, etc.

These models are made for mounting on a DIN rail, and for conventional mounting on old-style mounts.

The accuracy of the device corresponds to class "1", the manufacturer's warranty is 5 years. Features of Energomer CE 102 counter:

  • Electronic seal.
  • Radio modem.
  • Three communication interfaces.
  • Infrared port for installing programs.
  • Protection of information from unauthorized access.

In our time, the growth of electricity tariffs has become stability. And to save your money, there is an option to switch to multi-zone power control. Such a device makes it possible to pay for services at a different rate at night. With a two-zone counter, the consumer always saves. Since during the day he pays at the usual rate, and at night 50 percent of the usual rate. And in this situation, the installation of a two-zone meter is beneficial for those consumers who do not fit into the norms of electricity consumption.

Is a two-tariff electric meter profitable: justification for installation

A two-tariff meter clearly justifies its installation, and especially for owners of their own home.

This justification can be explained by 3 facts:

  • The owner has the opportunity to save on heating water;
  • Also saving on space heating;
  • And savings on household processes such as: washing and similar use.

This also applies to owners of their own homes. And now let's move on to the owners of apartments.

Basically, all the benefits are the same as for the owners of private houses. But efficiency is especially shown in use in systems of heating of heat-insulated floors. Switching on floor heating will be optimal only at a time when tariffs are reduced. It will not be possible to save money on laundry at night, as the neighbors will be against night noise. If the house is built with soundproofing systems, then such savings are certainly possible.

2-tariff electricity meter: how to install

The installation of such a meter must necessarily be with the previous execution of the contract for its installation.

This is done in this way:

  1. First you need to contact the organization that supplies electricity to your locality. In this organization, the consumption contracting hotel renegotiates the contract for changing electricity tariffs. The contract you filled out remains with the organization and within a couple of days the old contract will be renewed. Also in the office of this organization, you can clarify what recommendations the organization gives for installation in the specific conditions of the settlement.
  2. After the conclusion of a new contract, you need to purchase a new two-loop meter. At your request, the seller must program the device for readings acceptable to the buyer and issue a special document with the corresponding readings. Such a document must be shown to the organization supplying electricity to your locality. In response, the organization must check the purchased meter.
  3. Next, an application is written to replace your counter with a new one. Pick up the checked counter and the renegotiated contract.
  4. After all this, it remains only to wait for a specialist who will install the meter. And after installation, enjoy the benefits of the new device and calculate the savings.

In our time, in the relevant acts, regulating the legal relationship in the field of electricity consumption, such accounting has two types. Using a double-circuit electricity meter, the tariffs for payment are determined by the day and night tariffs. The day rate is in effect from 7 am to 11 pm, respectively, the night rate comes into force from 23 pm to 7 am.

Multi-tariff meter: profitable or not

A two-zone multi-tariff electric meter is beneficial. The difference is felt immediately enough to buy it and determine how much you have saved. A single-tariff electric meter will not allow you to save so much money. To accurately determine whether it makes sense to switch to using a double-circuit meter - you need readings of power consumption. If you want to install a two-tariff meter, then for this you need to record the meter readings at 7 am and at 23 pm. For the tariff it is necessary to make such entries at 7 am, 10 am, 5 pm, 9 pm and 11 pm. These records must be made within a month, and only after that you will find out the energy demand for all zones and find out whether it is beneficial for you to replace the meter with a double-circuit one.

Not everyone is willing to do this kind of research. And in this case, you can go by reasoning. If a simple person who is at work from 8 am to 5 pm, and your apartment does not have a large number of smart automatic devices that perform their functions at a given time, then you definitely do not need to install a double-circuit meter. And after installation, on the contrary, you will not save on energy consumption, and you may have to pay more.

The presence of household appliances and, most importantly, the desire to use it only at night will give you the opportunity to save money on paying for electricity consumed.

At the same time, take into account that constant rises at night in order to monitor your counter can lead to a change in the daily rhythm, insomnia and other such troubles with your health. Also, leaving the equipment in operation unattended can lead to a fire or flood. And if your units are noisy, then this will also lead to quarrels with neighbors.

A rating and a forum can help you choose what is best and what is profitable for you, where users explain exactly how the transition and installation of these meters differ, and whether it is possible to transfer your use to an electronic three-tariff or two-zone meter in Ukraine, since a single-phase meter has long gone out of fashion .

Single-rate meter: main disadvantages

In our time, there are still counters from the last century. They have several drawbacks. In order for consumers to install modern models of meters. The electromechanical mechanism is reliable only from the point of view of a long period of continuous operation.

The main disadvantages of such devices are:

  • Payment can be made at one rate;
  • Indication error;
  • Low defense rate;
  • Lack of basic functions that are provided in a modern electric meter.

Also, the disadvantage of such a device is the occurrence of difficulties during the installation of the meter. For example, in a modern switchboard with a rail, such a meter is very difficult to install. It is impossible to say about the complexity of installing a modern meter. In addition to all this, the appearance of the old counter is not very attractive. This not very beautiful view of the device will not hide even the modern design of the room.

Is a two-zone counter profitable (video)

We tried to tell about all the privileges of a double-circuit meter in as much detail as possible in our article. Of course, it is up to you to decide whether you need to install such a device or not. But saving money always sounds so tempting. Weigh the pros and cons, decide if you can take the time to calculate and organize the installation, and boldly set a replacement goal.

Electricity bills can take up a significant portion of a family's budget. To save at least some money, many enterprising homeowners listen to the advice of management companies and decide to install a three-rate meter in their home.

Such a device, unlike a conventional electricity meter, registers energy consumption differentially, that is, at different time intervals. Why this can be profitable from an economic point of view and how to reduce costs after all Let's try to figure it out.

Who needs it?

Obviously, the consumption of electricity is uneven. In order to somehow reduce the costs associated with the maintenance of equipment and encourage users to create a uniform load during the day, experts suggested that residents install a three-tariff electricity meter. The thing is that at night, when most residents of cities and towns sleep, the load on serving substation is minimal. In the morning, around 7 am, when people start to wake up, the so-called morning peak occurs. It continues until 10-11 o'clock in the afternoon. Then energy consumption decreases to an average value and remains almost unchanged until the evening peak - the moment when people start coming home from work. The evening peak lasts from 17-18 to 23 hours.

The wave-like nature of electricity consumption is reflected in the work in the morning and in the evening, it functions at full capacity, during the day - at an optimal level, and at night it is practically inactive. As a result of an unevenly distributed load, the wear of mechanisms is accelerated, and consequently, operating costs increase.

Differentiated Accounting

To minimize operating costs, it was proposed to use a three-tariff meter. The essence of its use is that the accounting of energy consumption is differentiated, that is, the amount of consumed resources is recorded separately during the day, at night, in the morning and evening peaks.

The cost of "day", "night" and "peak" kW of energy is different. The daily tariff usually corresponds to the cost of one kW of electricity in normal accounting. The cost of the night is 50-70% lower, but during the morning and evening maximum, the price of electricity is usually the highest and can even be 70% higher than the daytime one.

By reducing consumption in the morning and evening, but increasing the load on the power grid at night, you can save a lot. This is the main advantage of using a three-tariff meter, which will record not only the amount of energy used, but also the time of consumption.

When is it beneficial?

Calculation according to the three-tariff will be profitable only if the following inequality is fulfilled:

Here P n, P d, P p - respectively, consumption at night, during the day and during peak load (morning and evening), P k - total energy consumption per day, C n, C d and C p - the cost of electricity at the corresponding time of day, Ts o - the price of one kW of electricity in a one-tariff calculation.

To get significant savings, you will have to change your daily routine. For example, run the washing machine and dishwasher at night, and in the morning and evening, if possible, refuse to turn on some household appliances.

We must not forget that the three-tariff meter must still pay off. It is not difficult to calculate the payback period (excluding inflation). To do this, you need to divide the cost of the device by the amount that it allows you to save per month. According to average calculations, this period is up to 12-16 months.

Pros and cons

It is possible to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of multi-tariff electricity metering only if we compare it with a two- and one-tariff calculation system. In the first case, it is possible to achieve significant savings in money and reduce the payback period. In the second, the difference may not be so noticeable due to the fact that a three-tariff meter costs 3-4 times more than a regular one. It is important to remember that the cost of one kW of electricity in different regions is different. So, in the city, the difference between the "day" and "night" price can be 50-70%, but outside the city limits, in holiday villages or in the countryside, this figure is at the level of 5-10%.

Maintenance of multi-tariff meters

Speaking of costs, one cannot help touching on the topic of instrument maintenance. All three-tariff meters are complex electronic devices, which, before commissioning, are not only connected to the power system, but also programmed - for each dial, the time range is entered during which it must register readings.

Obviously, only employees of a specialized company, such as Mosenergo, can perform such procedures. A three-tariff meter, like a standard recording device, needs to be checked once every 16 years.

The design of these devices contains lithium batteries that retain the set settings in the event of a power outage. Their efficiency is hardly enough for the time interval between checks. Therefore, be prepared that in the middle of the term you will have to call specialists to replace the batteries.

Ways to increase savings

The main way to increase savings with a multi-tariff billing system is to change your daily routine. If possible, try to do laundry, charge cell phones, turn on air conditioners, and use other household appliances only at night.

Refurbishing your home is another way to save money if you intend to install a three-rate meter. Tariffs for electricity consumption in apartments with an electric stove are 50-60% lower than in houses with gas burners. At the same time, you can save not only on electricity, but also on gas.

Remember that for a three-rate meter, the tariff time is set by the legislature separately in each region for one year in advance, and it differs from the time intervals set for two-tariff meters. Remember to take this into account when calculating your cash savings.

According to the legislators' bright plan, a two-tariff electricity meter should help the consumer save money, and generating companies - energy. However, in practice, things are not so rosy.

The principle of operation of a two-tariff electricity meter is based on the distinction between more expensive daytime and cheaper nighttime tariffs. The two-tariff system itself provides for the division of the day into two tariff zones: day - from 7.00 to 23.00 and night - from 23.00 to 7.00.

It is known that during the day the load on power plants is uneven - in the mornings and evenings there is a peak in energy consumption, and at night power engineers have to sharply reduce electricity generation. Such "jumps" have a bad effect on the technical condition of the equipment. At the same time, during periods of peaks, the company is forced to use all its capacities, including those with a high cost of energy production.

All sisters - by earrings

To ensure energy saving on a national scale would allow the total transition of all consumers for double billing. First, production costs will be reduced. Secondly, it is possible to delay the commissioning of new generating capacities by reducing electricity consumption during peak hours.

As for consumers, there is a carrot in store for you and me. A two-tariff metering system should provide savings on electricity bills. True, for this you will have to “correctly” organize the use of household electrical appliances. In other words, partially switch to a nocturnal lifestyle. What expanse for "owls"!

By starting a two-tariff meter, you will get a good reason to “charge” an automatic washing machine at night, and not during the day, as before. And also get into the habit of turning on floor heating, air conditioners, dishwashers and other energy-intensive appliances at night.

What is the benefit? She is. If from seven in the morning until eleven in the evening all the “larks” of Rostov pay two rubles 82 kopecks for each "burned" kWh, then after 23.00 "owls" get it only for two rubles 54 kopecks, that is, almost a third of the ruble cheaper.

You can get acquainted with the tariffs for electricity differentiated by time of day in the Rostov region in more detail. in the Decree of the Regional Tariff Service RO No. 15/4 dated December 25, 2009.

A two-tariff meter looks the same as a regular meter, only at the set hours the display changes. "Reprogramming" happens twice a day -
at seven in the morning and 11 in the evening.

Today, many new buildings in Rostov, even at the construction stage, are equipped with automated electricity metering systems, which provide residents with the opportunity to “calculate energy” at day and night rates. This system includes not only the two-tariff meters themselves, but also special equipment - ASKUE system, i.e. Automated system of commercial electricity metering. This technology allows you to program metering devices and remotely take their readings. In this case, experts say that you have two-tariff counter with an external rater.

If the house is not equipped automated system accounting, this does not mean that a two-tariff accounting system has been ordered for you. Just have to install two-rate counter with built-in rater, and this is a paid service.

How to switch to a two-tariff meter?

To switch to a two-tariff electricity payment system, you need to contact
to the utility service provider that is, to your management company or HOA.
And if the house is in direct control - to the power supply company with which the contract for the supply of the resource is concluded.

After that, you will receive a special form on which you will need to write statement
on the transition to two-tariff accounting.
At the same time, you are obliged to familiarize yourself with the detailed conditions for the transition to the new system and tell you about the availability of discounts. Usually, benefits are given to pensioners, war and labor veterans.

It is worth considering that the cost of a new meter will be much less if you order several devices at once - for example, together with your neighbors. By the way, you can buy a meter not only from an energy company, but also on manufacturers' websites and in their stores.

Of course, the electricity supplier serving your home has two-rate meters available and provides comprehensive services for their installation, connection and further maintenance. But quite often the prices for the equipment at the energy company are “bullyed”. Therefore, it is more profitable to purchase a counter somewhere else. This will usually cost the minimum. 1400–1500 rubles. The cost of the installation service is within 200–300 rubles.

CALCULATED - TEARED

So is the game worth the candle?

Now let's move from beautiful theory to sobering practice. Let's calculate what benefit and how soon we will get from a progressive two-tariff meter.

Consider, for example, an average apartment in Rostov, in which a family of two lives. Electricity consumption - 300 kWh per month, of which
100 kWh occurs at night time.

If earlier at a one-part rate RUB 2.80 we would back off 840 rub, then we will pay according to the two-tariff system 818 rubles: 200 kWh by cost RUB 2.82 and 100 kWh-
on 2.54 RUB

Total savings comes out 22 rubles. Considering that, on average, the purchase and installation of a new meter will cost about two thousand rubles, it is easy to calculate the payback of such a counter - about 6-7 years old!

Who benefits?

Was all the fuss with a two-tariff electricity metering system started in vain? And the whole of Europe, which has long been living in accordance with these energy saving rules, is simply mistaken?

NUMBER

50% of Russians believe that the new settlement system will not affect their electricity bills in any way. (According to the results of the VTsIOM survey).

Of course not. Two-tariff meters are beneficial ... but not for everyone. This system allows you to significantly save on electricity bills if you have a large family or you live in a spacious house, where there are many electrical appliances that can be used at night: automatic washing machines and dishwashers, heated floors, electric heaters, electric water heaters, powerful courtyard lighting and other energy-intensive devices for a comfortable life.
