Sometimes you don’t know where you will find it and where you will lose it - this is always the case with high-status universities. At first glance, they may seem reliable, because the state itself vouches for some of them, but the real state of affairs is revealed only to students. However, even students sometimes realize the value of the acquired knowledge and diploma when applying for a job after four to five years of study. We will try to tell you in this article how difficult it is to enter the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, what is needed for this and how students respond to this university.

The main thing is in the details

Enter the diploma. The Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is much easier than MGIMO (U), although there are also few budget places here. For those who want to get the first higher education, as well as for those who have previously graduated from college, a bachelor's degree program is provided. Admission to master's and postgraduate programs is also carried out, and language courses are conducted as part of pre-university preparation.

The duration of undergraduate studies is standard and is 4 years, but for those who receive a second higher education, this period is somewhat shorter and they can study not full-time, but in the evening (part-time) department. Recruitment for the following areas will be announced very soon:

  • International relationships. Only those applicants who have successfully passed the Unified State Exam in Russian, history and one of the foreign languages, including German, Spanish, French and English, can take part in the competition. Those who continue their studies after college must cope with entrance tests conducted by the academy in the named subjects in written and oral form. As of 2017, the cost of training is 375,000 rubles for two semesters. There are 36 budget places, taking into account the quota for foreign citizens, and 60 contract places.
  • Economy. To enter, you will need to pass the Unified State Exam in Russian, specialized mathematics, and a foreign language of your choice: English, German, Spanish or French. Applicants with a diploma of secondary vocational education are spared from uniform state exam, but instead they are still forced to prepare for internal entrance exams in the mentioned subjects. The annual payment as of 2017 is 353,000 rubles. There are only 36 budget places, taking into account the quota for foreign nationals, and 50 places for applicants on a paid basis.
  • Jurisprudence. This area of training is available only to those who are receiving a second higher education. The payment is 246,000 rubles annually for a duration of study of 3.5 years in the full-time and part-time department.

Advantages and disadvantages

Unfortunately, at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Russian Federation No military department, which is somewhat strange, taking into account the specifics of the activities of the graduates. However, as in many other universities, students are given a deferment from military service for the period of study.

The dormitory is paid, the number of places is limited, only full-time students are allowed to live in it; It is located at a distance from the buildings and the journey will take about 30 minutes.

The academy has not only a license, but also accreditation, so graduates receive state diplomas, not established ones. The status itself is diplomatic. The academy also gives confidence that the quality of teaching here will always meet state standards. But it should be noted that students do not study many subjects, if you believe the schedule for the first, second, third and fourth years, and, in general, the program does not seem particularly rich.

Much attention is paid foreign languages, but based on the reviews, we can say that not all students are satisfied with the level of teaching. They also note that lectures in some disciplines contain little factual material and at the same time many examples from the life of the speaker. So far, not all classrooms are equipped with tables, which is inconvenient if you have a lot to do.

It is quite possible that studying at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry contributes to the establishment necessary connections, which will make further employment easier, but while you are thinking about applying for admission and choosing a university, the students of the academy are making every effort to pass the internship.

You can enter an ideal higher education institution and not take away even a grain of knowledge, but you can also show interest and become a high-class specialist by graduating from an unremarkable university. Go for it, you will succeed!
